Aysia Lewis developed a product for the 2005 FXW Invention Convention in Chicago as part of a 5th grade class assignment. The nine-year-old had long noticed her teachers losing their board markers and erasers. The oversized mitten she designed not only solved that problem, but also cleaned without the dust or chemicals of standard board erasers. Aysia has received the Chatham Business Association Junior Entrepreneur Invention Award for her product. Erasermitt, Incorporated was then formed in January 2009, with the help of her parents, and schools continuing to be among their most enthusiastic customers.
Today, Erasermitt, Inc. is MBE certified, and currently a vendor of Staples Advantage and Promotional Products Division, Amazon.com, IMS/GROUP II Communications (McDonalds Corporation), Archdiocese of Chicago, Chicago Public Schools, University of Chicago, University of Illinois Chicago, and Metropolitan Water Reclamation.
The Erasermitt, patented in 2011, has been tested by UL/STR and is manufactured in the USA. The product is designed for cleaning whiteboards and blackboards; it is economical, eco-friendly, practical, and fun all in one swipe.
